I am a British born Muslim of Pakistani decent. Profession-wise, I work as a Mechanical Engineer for a global automobile manufacturer.
Being an Engineer, technology is one of my keen interests! Putting this aside, I genuinely enjoy travelling, photography and (trying to learn) languages! A philosophy I adhere to is to endeavour to make the best use of one's time including their leisure. So in my usual free time I will try to keep abreast of current affairs; increase knowledge through documentaries/ articles, etc; as wells as visit exhibitions, conferences and talks. Spending time with the folks is a must and I will try and drag them along to the aforementioned activities if suitable.
Rest assured I am human and I do sometimes indulge in the ' guilty arts' - the least-guilty of these in my opinion being my joy of world cinema. Keeping fit is another good use of time - hiking and the outdoors are a passion - and are much more enticing than the gym! But as per the masses, I do attend the gym as there is no Glen Coe in my backyard! Playing Badminton is another hobby and I try to play as often as I can.
In regards to a self-description of my personality - (this is always a balancing act , right?) - I would state I am pragmatic, humble, hard-working, courteous and truthful. I subscribe to the ethos of choosing the 'righteous' option even if generates the need for more effort. Adherence to this ethos typically requires the prerequisite of suppressing one's Nafs/ego. From a career perspective, I have generally never been ambitious in the sense of acquiring a particular level of seniority. However, I have always had the curiosity to obtain a decent level of understanding of a problem and the passion to determine the correct solution to it. And alhumdulliah, Allah has granted me with an organic level of progression with this mindset. I hope this provides some insight to the internals of my mind!
I am searching for a wife so that we can fulfil that other 50% of our deen inshallah. Naturally, harmonious couples tend to be excellent friends and so I hope my potential spouse would fall under this category. In light of this, sharing similar interests helps!
Striving to keep things halal is essential and so I am looking for a practising muslimah. By that I'm not implying I am not interested in 'non-hijabis' - as it's what's in the heart that counts. But I hope she does fast, prays, dresses in compliance with Islamic principles and endeavours to maintain an Islamic character (e.g. prevents committing slander, etc).
Being kind-hearted, considerate and respectful of their own and their spouse's family are Islamic traits that I try (and will try) to achieve and I would ask the same of my wife.
Marriage is an amicable partnership where we support each-other in developing ourselves to achieve the best we can in terms of reaching 'ihsan' in all attributes of our lives; and where we make joint decisions in significant aspects of our lives.
Whilst I understand the wisdom in not pursuing a relationship based on physical appearances, I do believe that a certain level of mutual physical attraction is required. So if one wishes to contact me, could they please ensure they have a profile picture.
I pray that Allah hastens each individual's preparation and union with their complimentary partner inshallah.
