As'salamu Alaikum. Welcome to my profile.
Firstly, an observation - browsing through the gallery on here I've noticed that many are attempting to do the duck impression. Please stop it. You're not a duck! :-p
Right, now how to describe myself in a "few" words...!?! I work in the civil service, and have done for over nine years. Born and bred in London, where I still live. My experience working in the public sector have included working on many world events, from the Arab Spring response, to the London 2012 Olympics and the recent NATO Summit in Wales.
Away from work life, I try my best (honest!) to maintain a healthy lifestyle - through regular gym, running and playing football. I completed the famous (or infamous, depending on how you perceive it) Insanity workout - it was hard work but felt like an amazing achievement, Alhumdulillah. I particularly enjoy seeing the world, and have been fortunate to have visited many countries East and West of the U.K. - including all over Europe, United States, Thailand, China, Morocco, Peru and many more - for both leisure and business - I hope to continue experiencing the world.
Now onto the less strenuous activities, I like getting involved in creative media - producing my own art and photography. I recently rediscovered my love of drawing. I don't plan to be a civil servant forever, and hope to get into the creative media industry, and start my own business in the same field, In sha Allah.
I'm not what you would call a strictly religious person, nor am I typically traditional, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten who I am, where my roots are and what it means to be a Muslim, and I see me bettering myself Islamically, In Sha Allah. I have also embarked on learning the Arabic language. I like to lead my life in a positive and rewarding way and do my part for charity. I am an uncle of nine nieces and nephews, so I've had my hands full with children growing up over the years.
PS: apologies if you get multiple notifications of me viewing your profile, while I get use to navigating this site.
PSS: I tried at the beginning of joining this site, but I'm now finding hard to keep on top of all the messages I receive. I'm sorry if I don't respond - either I'm too busy to reply or I believe we are not compatible. Please don't be offended.
I'm not too picky in my partner preference. In terms of personality, I prefer someone who knows how to have a good laugh, is level-headed and would be up for adventure/exploring the world. I prefer someone with a strong character. Intellect is very important too. A bug of mine is when people incorrectly use "your" instead of "you're", grrrr! I am serious about marriage, but I must also add that I'd like to at least get to know someone before steaming ahead and organising a wedding - I mean, as I'll be devoting the rest of my life I want to be sure you are the right person. However, if you're looking for a speed wedding, I might not be the right person for you.
As a Muslim/human first, someone's caste and position on the social ladder isn't important to me. So if being from a certain heritage or part of the world is important to you/a deal breaker, than I might not be the right person for you because I believe in being compatible to a potential partner's personality and wit.
A couple of things that are a turn off: clinginess and over-enthusiastic make-up.
Finally, British nationals only, please. You must also have a profile picture, as it's only fair I see what you look like if you can see what I look like. You've heard the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words". Well, profile photos can tell a lot about someone's character. Thanks.
