Let me begin by saying I'm a teacher by profession and find each day a rewarding and humbling experience especially working with refugees. My students' teach me much more than they realise!
I'm currently in Saudi Arabia for a year. An experience in itself alhamdulillah.
In terms of my personality/character it's all subjective according to which lense one views someone with, so when asked by those around me, they say I am; compassionate especially towards animals (humans too, I'm not a hippy), disciplined and strive to get things done, give people the benefit of doubt and I really care about the problems the ummah faces locally and abroad.
I would also add that I'm simple down to earth and love my family, but cherish time to myself to reflect/contemplate.
I love an adventure, spontaneous things like climbing the Atlas Mountains (thrice) on a recent visit to Morroco, in my abayah too! I love nature just can't get enough of this beautiful world our creator has gifted us with.
I have a sense of humour, after all smiling is sunnah. :) and it keeps you from developing a hard heart!
I find chivalry has lost its place amongst the fast paced lifestyle we lead. In that regard modesty is also rare. Traits which serve well for husband and wife.
My interests stretch from walking (in the peaks when possible), cycling (a recent hobby which I love), eating organic (when possible), engaging in community dawah and keeping an eye on current affairs. I follow politics , not the usual kind.. blue, red or yellow. I'm inclined towards Islamic politics.
I wear the hijab (khimar and Jilbab) and I'm not fashion conscious in the western/eastern sense. This doesn't mean I don't dress well; simply not superficial or obsessed with labels or clothing. After all a white sheet is all you go with!
NB: I will try my utmost to respond to all messages. However, sometimes it may not be possible, so please forgive me. If I don't respond then take it I won't be pursuing matters. I make Du'ah Allah (swt) grants you success with your search.
A person of sound mind (bonus) and character! Ignore the former, of course your sane.
On a serious note;
Someone striving in his deen who wants to marry to gain the pleasure of Allah (swt).
In an ever superficial world someone who ponders on the latter guidance in the Hadith below;
Prophet (saws) guidance:
"A woman is married for four (things); her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. Choose (marry) the religious woman so that your home will be in abundance." (Bukhari)
Looking for a spouse who doesn't settle for the status quo. Instead, makes informed decisions in his life using Quran and Sunnah. Ultimately ensuring he fulfils the rights of everyone under his guardianship.
I love animals (had 3 cats.. now just the one). I couldn't part with her and would hope my future husband would take our feline creation.
Some advise to myself before it applies to the brothers. If Islam is truly our basis then we conduct ourselves according to the Khair (goodness) Allah (swt) asks of us. Likewise, we stay clear of munkar (evil). In this process let's maintain some decorum in particular; focus, respect, kindness and humility as we all have flaws and sometimes our expectations for a spouse may not be met. Marriage after all is a path to find tranquility (with each other's shortcomings) so we can complete half our deen.
My point is simply to stress that one should keep in check their intentions and conduct. I would request you make clear, what is important to you? Is it beauty, wealth, profession or PIETY? This makes the process easier on both sides and eradicates endless guessing games (I was never good at those). In this never ending maze I just want one less obstacle to figure out.
I kindly request that you contact me if you respect/fit the following;
*no idle chit chat please.. stick to asking questions.
*I won't respond if you just request picture access without taking the initiative to introduce yourself.
*Try and make the effort to ask a few questions, instead of taking the easy route and asking to talk over the phone without establishing compatibility. I won't give my number to any Tariq, Danial and Harris! Sorry just had to make this point crystal clear.
*if your intimidated by someone who holds Islamic views.. (non-argumentative views, may I add), then maybe I'm not the one.
*be kind and give due respect and consideration (like you would to any family member) and discuss with one sister at a time.. your not out grocery shopping for BOGOF!
*be honest and clear from the offset and remember we are accountable for misleading or hurting someone.
*Freemixing isn't permitted for Muslims so I'll be frank! Please don't contact me if you have female 'friends' and somehow think that it's acceptable to go out in groups or alone with them! It's wrong in so many ways; I'd go as far as saying if their married it's shameful and if their single then brother get married to them. Let's stop imitating the west.
*share your picture as mine is available to view.
*Finally, I don't want language to be a barrier, so ideally I'm looking for someone who speaks English fluently.
May Allah (azawajal) grant us all success in our endeavours. Ameen
