Tariq and Naaila Mohammed were busy house-hunting but we were delighted when the newlyweds invited SingleMuslim.com to Tariq's family home in Manchester to tell us all about their unique path to marriage. From 5,000 miles to marriage smiles

Within a month of meeting on SingleMuslim.com, Mohammad Ali and Anila Ansari were married. It's not the quickest marriage that the website has seen but, considering our happy couple currently live five thousand miles apart, it was no mean feat!

SingleMuslim.com met the newlyweds at Mohammad's house in Slough on 13th August 2011, whilst Anila was visiting the UK from her home in Canada, when they shared their unique journey with us, as well as their plans for the future.

A CHANGE OF HEART LEADS TO LOVE

Fawad Habib arrived in the UK last year on a student visa and he met his soul mate, Farhana Choudhury, within two months of registering on SingleMuslim.com. The happy couple held their nikah on 23 May 2011, followed by their registry office wedding on 14 July.

When Yahya Hassan met Shahida Begum on SingleMuslim.com it took only two weeks for them to decide that they both wanted to get married. Yahya met Shahida's family shortly after they first made contact online and with the Mercy of Allah they were married in a small ceremony on the 11th July 2010. We caught up with the happy couple in October at their home in Shepherd's Bush, London to discover how their nikaah came about.

Abdul Raza and Safeenah Yasmin are both from Stourbridge, West Midlands, and had both been married before. Despite their very different backgrounds, Muhammad Ali and Catherine Heseltine found love and compatibility on SingleMuslim.com. The happy couple married on 9th August 2010 with a "Banglish" wedding, a fusion of Bangladeshi and English cultures.

We met Muhammad and Catherine recently at the SingleMuslim.com office in Wakefield, where they filled us in on their backgrounds as well as their unique wedding journey.

Bilal Abubaka (39) and Zaheda Novsarka (40) held their Nikkah on 7th August 2010, just over one week after meeting on SingleMuslim.com. We were intrigued to meet the couple involved in our fastest marriage yet at their home in Coventry shortly afterwards.

Few couples can honestly say that their wedding day plans went without a hitch, but for newlyweds Samir Ahmed (28) and Sidra Quereshi (23) the path to marriage was smooth and simple. Maryam’s three-year-old son, Izaf, lives with them at their home in Oldham, where we met up with them and heard all about their whirlwind journey.

The latest newlyweds to be presented with free tickets for an Umrah trip by SingleMuslim.com are Matthew and Sumia, who married on 15th August 2008. We met up with them a month after their wedding at their apartment in Manchester.

Common Ground: Youth workers find love!

Jahid was born and bred in North London and now works in HMV at Canary Wharf. He also works with young underprivileged children in his area. Halima was born in South Harrow, London. She is a part-time volunteer youth worker who especially enjoys working with local Muslim youth and addressing the challenges they face.

Jahid and Halima found a strong connection between themselves, rooted firmly in their love of helping others.

Where destiny takes us.

We met Sabina (24) and Khaled (26) at their home in East Finchley on Wednesday 13 August 2008.

Sabina registered with SingleMuslim.com on 29 January 2008 and Khaled registered his profile for the second time on 29 March 2008.

In the first week Khaled registered for free and he says, “Alhamdulillah, I got four messages.” So the following week he decided to subscribe for a month and to contact the people who messaged him. “Alhamdulillah, Sabina was one of the four people who messaged me.”

Karwan Hussein and Rahima Razak married in February 2008. SingleMuslim.com caught up with them on 3 May 2008 at the Passion Persian Restaurant in Wilsden, North London, where they revealed to us the secrets of their success in finding an ideal marriage partner.

SingleMuslim.com’s latest happy couple come from very different backgrounds. Karwan is 27 years old and originally from the Kurdish area of Iraq. He has lived in the UK for over 6 years and works part-time in automotive manufacturing while he studies.

Imran Quershi and Javaria Imran look surprisingly full of energy given that they have only recently flown back into the UK from Pakistan.

Following the marriage of this happy couple on July 17th, SingleMuslim.com was lucky enough to meet up with them at Frango’s restaurant in Hounslow, London on Sunday 19th August 2007.

Third time was the right time!

Omar and Shaymaa met on SingleMuslim.com and married on 14th June 2007. We met up with them at their home in Wembley on Saturday 1st March 2008, when the happy couple showed that they are proof that perseverance pays off!
 
Omar, aged 20, works as a station assistant at the London Underground. He is half English and half Egyptian and was brought up in West London. Shaymaa, 21, was born in London to Moroccan parents and currently works on a female Muslim youth project in Westminster.

On Saturday 13 January 2007, SingleMuslim.com met up with Atif Malik and Yasmin Nargis at the Nile Palace, a well known Indian restaurant in Leicester.
